During 2014, Becky Hirst worked with Adelaide City Council to develop and deliver a comprehensive Community Leaders course in North Adelaide.
The course ran over 14 weeks, including theoretical learnings, guest speakers and practical group work of delivering community-based projects.
By the end of the course, participants had been inspired and motivated to become active leaders in their community, knowing their individual strengths. They had increased confidence in creating change within their community and were able to now think strategically about doing so. As part of the course, they identified local community needs and aspirations, turning these in to practical projects to create change.
