Engagement Strategy

In 2014, Adelaide City Council was seeking to develop an Engagement Strategy that aimed to create a culture of placing a greater emphasis on working together with stakeholders to share decision making and vision that would drive Adelaide.

The client was seeking to develop an Engagement Strategy that aimed to create a culture of placing a greater emphasis on working together with stakeholders to share decision making and vision that would drive Adelaide. Council was seeking stakeholder and staff input into the development of an Engagement Framework, in particular organisational values for engagement, a spectrum of engagement (e.g. different levels) and ways to improve their existing methods of engagement.

Becky Hirst worked with Adelaide City Council to plan, deliver and report on the stakeholder engagement activity as part of this process.

Stakeholders for this process included Council Members, the leadership group, Council staff, plus customers and citizens of Adelaide City Council. State Government departments were also identified as key stakeholders.

The work involved working with key engagement staff to develop a project plan, planning and facilitating a number of community workshops, planning online content for engagement with a broader range of stakeholders, interviews with key stakeholders and staff training and workshops

An Engagement Strategy (PDF) has since been developed and endorsed by Adelaide City Council.
