Becky Hirst is a well-respected thought leader in the field of community engagement and a leading social impact entrepreneur.

After being born and bred in Gloucester, in the south-west of the UK, Becky migrated to Australia in 2007.

Beginning her career in the late nineties during the early-Blair years of social inclusion and community development, almost two-and-a-half decades ago, Becky has worked with multiple communities, on multiple topics, across two continents.

Her clients include countless local and state Government agencies, as well as non-government organisations and private enterprise. Her leadership experience, working with senior executive teams, project teams, and working with boards and politicians is vast.

Becky has significant networks in Australia, the UK and beyond, both in the political sphere, as well as government administration, media, business and community. Becky was appointed by Premier Jay Weatherill to his Community Engagement Board in 2013.

Being an entrepreneur, Becky has a natural ability to take risks that turn an idea into profit. Becky won the SA Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2010. In her consultancy work, she has consciously chosen to remain nimble and as a sole practitioner, enjoying the flexibility of being able to scale up her team as and when she needs to. Becky’s latest start up business, MorganiseMe™, is a testament to her determination to make the world a better place through making small changes, on a global scale.

Becky has run many successful 'side' projects such as the multiple award-winning Winey Times initiative. Becky has been the Chair of the Board of Management at the McLaren Vale Hospital, a mentor for the Fleurieu Future Leaders Program and a Trustee of the micro philanthropy Awesome Foundation Fleurieu, as well as more recently a founding member of the Heal & Hustle Council.

Becky and her family enjoy sharing their 2.5 acre property with people visiting their local area via their Airbnb.

Becky is an energetic consultant, author, public speaker, trainer and mentor for those keen to develop their skills in engaging with people, groups and communities. She is highly sought after by clients for her strategic guidance in navigating best practice community engagement.

In October 2021, Becky was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA), in recognition of her exhaustive work on social inclusion and development in the UK and Australia, her best-selling book on community and participation, and her empowering services toward engagement and bringing people together.

In April 2021, Becky published For the Love of Community Engagement. On pre-orders alone, the book shot to #1 best seller on Amazon AU in the Civics & Citizenship category, temporarily outranking Hillary Clinton and Bill Gates!
